April and Taylor

Our Story

🌿 About Us

Taylor and April Locke met in 2006 in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, while studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). In 2013, as they prepared for marriage, they also began laying the foundation for a new venture — a handcrafted, all-natural body care brand they would come to call humblelove.

They were married that October, barefoot among hay bales, beneath the wide Texas sky on family land in central Texas.

Soon afterwards, they left Savannah and planted roots in the small town of Caldwell, Texas, ready to grow both a family and a business. What began as a side project in their kitchen quickly bloomed into a calling.

By the fall of 2016, with their 18-month-old son Elijah in tow, another son (Silas) on the way, and their daughter Anna not even yet imagined, they opened the doors to their brick-and-mortar shop: The Humble Life.

All of humblelove’s body care products are made on-site in their store, using clean, simple ingredients and time-tested methods. The shop also houses a full natural smoothie bar, hosts private art parties and camps, and offers a curated selection of artisan goods from other small makers.

The name humblelove reflects what they hoped would always define both their products and their family: a desire to serve others in love, all to the glory of our good God. Their goal is to create a community space that offers a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life, where their neighbors can breathe a little deeper, live a little slower, and find products they know they can trust.

When Taylor and April aren’t working alongside their (truly awesome) team, you’ll likely find them at a little league field, serving at their church, digging in the garden, renovating their 100-year old farmhouse, or rewatching The Office.

To them, The Humble Life is more than a store; it's a way of life that reflects what matters most: faith, family, beauty, honesty, and a slower, more intentional way of being.

SMALL FAMILY. SMALL BUSINESS. SMALL TOWN. BIG LOVE.
